NPTA members are at the forefront of the paper and packaging industry, serving as advocates for enhancing the industry.
NPTA values its members who actively support its mission, and thus, are recognized for their contributions through a variety of awards, including:
- Golden Eagle Award, which recognizes those individuals who have served the paper, packaging and allied products distribution industry for 40 years or more.
- Stanley O. Styles Industry Excellence Award, which is NPTA’s highest honor is awarded to an individual who has had a distinguished career in the paper, packaging and supplies industry.
Golden Eagle Award
It is with great pleasure that the NPTA Alliance recognizes those individuals who have served the paper, packaging and allied products distribution industry for 40 years or more. This award is an ongoing service of NPTA and is available to all members throughout the year. There is no time limit or deadline for this continuing program.
To receive an award, one is required to be a current employee of a member company and must submit a letter outlining his or her experience on the company's letterhead along witih a completed Golden Eagle Award application. To download the current Golden Eagle Award application, click here.
Stanley O. Styles Industry Excellence Award
NPTA Alliances’ highest honor is awarded to an individual who has had a distinguished career in the paper, packaging and supplies industry. Each year, NPTA selects an industry leader who has made a positive impact through innovation and dedication, and whose character represents the ideals for which leaders all strive.
A call for nominations for the 2011 Sanley O. Styles Industry Excellence Award is now open. NPTA strongly urges each of you to consider those with whom you work currently or have in the past who would be a worthy recipient of this industry award.

The criteria for the selection of award winners is as follows
- The recipient of the award shall be a paper merchant, paper manufacturer or converter, consultant, or educator who has had a distinguished career in the paper, packaging or supplies distribution channel.
- The winner will be someone who has had a positive influence on the paper, packaging, or supplies distribution channel. This may be from the introduction of new management methods, marketing concepts, or new products, which have become important in the industry.
- The award recipient will be one who is acknowledged by the paper, packaging, or supplies distribution channel as a leader and a good representative of the values and traits necessary for the excellent conduct of business.
- The winner will be one who has been long involved in industry affairs through actions, and has supported the industry’s trade associations, foundations, and marketing groups of mills, converters, merchants, and others.
- The award recipient will be someone who has been a spokesperson for the industry either locally and/or nationally, and whose opinion is respected.
- The winner will be one who exhibits impeccable character and is regarded as a good citizen of the paper industry.
