Young Leaders Division

Started in 1974 as the Young Executives Forum, this sub-division of the NPTA Alliance was formed for up-and-coming industry leaders under the age of 45. The purpose was to form a group that would support the industry’s next generation of leaders by providing them with education and training as well as networking opportunities.

In its history, the Young Leaders Division (YLD) has had hundreds of managers pass through on their way to greater responsibility in their companies and in our industry. While it varies with the individual, most members would categorize the values and benefits of participation into a few important areas.

The opportunity to meet new people, build relationships and exchange information about important business issues with a group of managers who have similar interests is a primary benefit of belonging to the YLD. These relationships continue throughout the year when members use the membership directory to make a call, send a fax or e-mail to their fellow members.

Because many of the YLD functions coincide with major NPTA Alliance events, the members of YLD have many opportunities to network with NPTA’s Board of Directors and volunteer leaders who sit on the various Association committees. These relationships can often grow into mentoring relationships which prove to be invaluable to YLD members.
