The business and affairs of the association are managed and controlled by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of the Executive Committee and seven additional directors, divided among Distributor members and Associate members. Two Distributor members and one Associate member are elected each year to serve a term of three years.

The Executive Committee of the association consists of six members that include the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Past Chairman and two additional directors. Also serving on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, without voting rights, are the President/CEO and Legal Counsel.

NPTA also has an active standing Paper Committee. This committee meets at least twice per year to discuss ideas and plan special projects specifically geared toward paper merchants and manufacturers and support NPTA and its membership.
