AEA Warehouse Training Course

AEA Launches New Warehouse Training Course

The Educational Opportunity

Most training for privately held distributors is geared toward product knowledge, sales or data processing functions. However, the material handling team – the same people who have a significant impact on net profit – receive little or no formal training. Distributors tend to use shadowing or on-the-job training, which can result in bad habits being passed from employee to employee. Essentials of Profitable Warehouse Operations gives the operational leaders the tools to create their own internal training programs.

Course Details

Based on the Essentials of Profitable Warehouse Operations© course created by the American Supply Association (ASA), this one-day course is intended to give managers a framework to teach essential warehousing functions to the teams they manage. The content also serves to refresh old concepts and introduce additional operating efficiencies.

Topics include:

  • Overview of wholesale distribution operations
  • Working with inventory in a profitable operation
  • Working together as a team
  • Managing risk in the warehouse operations
  • How a warehouse works
  • How orders are picked and packed
  • Loading and shipping operations
  • How to put that knowledge to work

The Target Audience

This program is designed for all operational personnel. Branch managers, warehouse managers and key warehouse supervisors are the most common participants. Training coordinators are also encouraged to participate.

The Cost of the Program

The tuition fee is $349 and also includes the “Essentials of Profitable Warehouse Operations” manual (list price of $119) and lunch. Classes are limited to 30 participants and registration typically closes 10 days prior to the event, so be sure to register early.

The Instructor
