Leader Paper Products acquired Papercraft Inc. Papercraft will retain its name and be run as an ind. Subsidiary of Co.  William and Robert Buege will continue involvement with day-to-day operation, most employees will remain.
Bunzl Distribution Inc. has acquired the Eastern Paper division of EPC Industries in Canada, a distributor to supermarkets and Packers Engineering & Equipment, a food processor supplies business based in Omaha, NE.
Pactiv Corp. announced the sale of its single-faced corrugated business to Palm Industrie Beteiligungs GmbH Co. KG. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Weyerhaeuser Co. completed its acquisition of Willamette Industries.  As of March 14, Willamette Industries became a wholly owned subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser and share of Willamette common stock not held by Weyerhaeuser were converted into the right to receive $55.50 in cash without interest when surrendered for payment.

JULY/AUGUST UPM-Kymmene Corporation will acquire MACtac, the pressure sensitive materials business from the U.S. based Bemis Company Inc., for USD 420 million. At the same time, under separate agreement, UPM-Kymmene will sell its plastic films manufacturer, Walki Films, to Bemis Company, Inc. for USD 70 million.
Georgia-Pacific Corp. agreed to sell 60% interest in its Unisource Worldwide paper distribution subsidiary to Bain Capital (a global private investment firm).
