APRIL Butler Paper acquired Killhour Commercial Paper Co., Philadelphia, including the Killhour-Commercial paper distribution center in Philadelphia and its Allentown branch, G.A. Rinn Paper Co. Killhour became a division of Butler.

JULY Great Northern Nakoosa agreed to buy Jim Walter Papers including 33    distribution locations, two envelope plants and two office supply manufacturing facilities.
AUGUST Dillard Paper said it would acquire Mudge Paper, Baltimore.
OCTOBER Butler Paper announced the merger of Jim Walter Papers and Butler operations in 14 cities and the name change from Jim Walter to Butler in 18 others.
