PAPER Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Application Information
Applications for the 2014 PAPER Foundation Scholarship Program is now opened!
The Program and its Purpose
The PAPER Foundation Scholarship Program was established to reward academic excellence and financially assist children and grandchildren of current employees of member companies of NPTA.
Administration of the Program
All phases of the scholarship competition, including selection of recipients and determination of awards to be made, are managed by the Center for Essential Management Services (CEMS), Greenlawn, NY. The decision made by CEMS to award recipients is final. Any falsified information will mean immediate disqualification.
Conditions of Eligibility
The applicant must be a child or grandchild of a current employee of a member company of the Paper And Plastics Education Research (PAPER) Foundation (all member companies of NPTA are automatically members of the PAPER Foundation). Member companies must be in good standing at the time scholarship application is made.
The Selection Process
CEMS has total responsibility for selecting the award recipients on the basis of the student's academic record, participation in school activities, work experience, community service activities, financial need, unusual personal or family circumstances, and a teacher recommendation. CEMS receives the application and makes the selection of award recipients.
Only one completed application is necessary to be considered for all awards an applicant qualifies for; all awards are made without regard to race, creed, color, sex, religion, or national origin. All awards are based on a combination of academic achievement and financial need.
Announcement and Distribution of Awards
Recipients of awards will be notified in late May. The awards will be made by CEMS on behalf of the PAPER Foundation. The award checks are payable jointly to the student and the institution that the recipient will be attending, and may be used to pay for tuition, books, lab fees, and/or other related educational expenses. The award checks will be mailed directly to the school during August.
The Responsibilities of the Student
Applicants to the PAPER Foundation Scholarship Program should remember that it is their responsibility to fulfill these requirements:
No obligation of any kind will be imposed upon award recipients, except to permit the PAPER Foundation or NPTA to announce the names of recipients of the awards and to publish their pictures with a brief bio. The PAPER Foundation assumes no further obligation in connection with the granting of the awards. However, the PAPER Foundation reserves the right to alter or discontinue the PAPER Foundation Scholarship Program at any time.
Questions regarding any aspect of the PAPER Foundation Scholarship Program should be addressed in writing to CEMS. Employees of the PAPER Foundation and NPTA cannot answer questions about the program beyond the information outlined in this document.
